TCL Unveils Note A1 Tablet With NxtPaper Display, Stylus Support, AI
TCL recently debuted a brand new tablet, with a special type of screen, NxtPaper Display. It’s dubbed TCL Note A1 and comes with a paper-like panel, without using E Ink.
Instead of E Ink it uses a NxtPaper display, that supports full color and high refresh rate. It packs an 11.5 inch anti glare LCD, that supports 16.7 million colors. TCL uses here proprietary NxtPaper display tech, that reduces blue light and also eliminates flickering. There’s also a matte finish that simulates a paper-like interface. It reduces eye strain, while also keeping the panel responsive.
The slate supports stylus input with dual tips and also has an integrated eraser. It promises “extremely low input latency”, which is great for writing, sketching and drawing. Note A1 is also able to convert handwritten notes into digital text and comes with AI-based features like note summarization, voice transcription and smart search.
TCL equipped the Note A1 with an 8 microphone array, that captures clear audio during meetings and viceo calls. It supports speech to text and also syncs with cloud storage services like Google Drive, Dropbox and OneDrive. It measures 260.1 x 196.5 x 5.5 mm and weighs 500 grams. There’s a fingerprint sensor here and a magnetic pogo pin connector. Oddly enough we don’t have details about CPU, RAM, storage.
Price and availability
The TCL Note A1 will be available via a Kickstarter campaign, with prices starting at $419.
