OPPO X8 Pad is a Gaming Tablet With a Flagship Processor
Believe it or not, the gaming tablet segment is still alive. After a few attempts from Huawei, Acer, Lenovo, turns out that OPPO also wants to try its hand at this. I would have thought that the ascension of portable gaming consoles, basically consoles with PC hardware would have killed the segment. Turns out it didn’t and now we’re going to get an OPPO X8 Pad.
The OPPO X8 Pad gaming tablet comes with a flagship chipset, according to rumors and it’s supposed to be an 8.8 incher. It’ll have an LCD display with rounded corners, as well as a pretty slim metal body. Inside it we find the same powerful MediaTek Dimensity 9400 processor that powers the OPPO Find X8 and OPPO Find X8 Pro. It’s a pretty small screened tablet, seeing the diagonals thrown around nowadays by Samsung and the likes.
This is all unconfirmed rumors, but they’re coming from a reliable source, Digital Chat Station on Weibo. If the tablet is supposed to be any good, it should have a very solid cooling system, either vapor chamber, graphite or both. Also, a dedicated console area would be nice, like Nubia and ASUS have, but from what I know, OPPO has some sort of a game manager of its own.
We’ll learn more come early 2025, as the Find X8 Ultra nears.
